Post by: fabrym on December 26, 2013, 08:22:59 AM
hello, I'm new, I downloaded a template and when I open the index.php file I find this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in / members / meteovalsa / wt_data_inc.php on line 486

this and 'the line of code:
$ TtempLF = $ pre_time. '<# TtempL format = "h'h'nn">'. $ Pre_date. '<# TtempL format = "d">'. $ Tr_monthnames ['<# TtempL format = "m"> '].' <# TtempL format = "yyyy"> ';

how can I fix it?

Hi Fab,

You just have to follow instructions for your Template.
As example, see Cumulus configuration step (http://weatherbyyou.com/wb_install.php#install) for Weather Blues v2

In brief, all Template files and folders has to be in place on your site,
then Php templates need, at minimum, only 2 data files to be processed
by Cumulus wt_data_inc.php and wt_months_inc.php... that's it!

Hope this help!

Jacques

Hi Fab,

C:\Cumulus\web is only an example place to put these data files to process,
it could be anywhere in your Pc. wt_data_inc.php and wt_months_inc.php
are the 2 files needing to be processed by Cumulus at each update interval.

So, place these 2 files in a Pc (local) folder where they are "safe" and tell
Cumulus to process them.

Jacques

Hi Fabry,

When you got the Template zip file, you have unzipped it
to a local folder in your Pc (and send files to your website),
so, there is the local Template copy and wt_data/wt_month
files are there!

I personnaly copy wt_data_inc.php and wt_months_inc.php files
into C:\Cumulus\web folder to protect them from handling error.

Hope this solve!

Jacques

Hi Fabry,

You were absolutely right! wt_month_inc.php was absent from archive.
So, I've sent a new v2.2a zip file to Download Section this morning.

For the persistent error, you haven't tell Cumulus to process your files.
To do so, take back to "Cumulus configuration" step on this link:
http://weatherbyyou.com/wb_install.php#install
(http://weatherbyyou.com/images/ws_ftp.jpg)

1 - Untick option "Include Standard Files"
2 - Add a line as the example:
. Local Filenames is the file name with the complete path (one line for wt_data and an other for wt_month)
. Remote Filename is where you want the file in your website (name and complete path)
3 - For each file, you have to choose (tick) Process? and FTP? options.

That way, Cumulus, will take the "data files" and process the "webtags" included by turning
these special words into real weather data... finally, FTP? option will tell Cumulus to send
the files to website.

Hope this help!

Jacques

Hi Fabry,

You have this error in TMM (manage.php) probably because
you have a Altervista banner in the upper screen. I'm having
other members using Altervista and no one report this problem.

So, if you could, de-activate this banner to see what happen.
If you look to your error message, you'll see that it is trying to open
a file link: http://weatherbyyou.com/updates/weather_blues/available.txt
Try to click on this link to see if file open.

Jacques

Hi Fabry,

That was just a test to do. Since your error is
"403 Forbidden access", you aren't supposed to see
the file when clicking on link.

So, if you viewed content of the file, access is not forbidden!
I think you're using a free hosting, so Advanced options are disabled!
(as cross-domain access)

Hi Fabry,

Since this problem is a server configuration parameter, you have
to check with your provider. This is often a (free) provider's politic
to avoid possible malicious use.

Hi Fabrym,

These texts are Cumulus own texts and they could be edited
by creating a file called Strings.ini into C:\Cumulus folder
(a sample is included by Cumulus, called samplestrings.ini)

I send you an Italian version 1.9.2, so you can merge them.

Jacques

I'm sad

I checked the settings altervista and I have all the permissions to access the external server .....
maybe your server does not receive my server?

others use this and have no errors ....
I'm stuck because I can not control this page:
http://www.meteovalsa.altervista.org/manage.php

you can check for yourself the mistake .... and the password is default I still have not changed.

Title: Re: error syntax error, unexpected T_STRING
Post by: Mr.Meteo on January 01, 2014, 02:00:41 PM
Hi Fabrym,

There is absolutely no "access restriction" on this link.
As the file local_lang.php became corrupted, I think that
the problem is with permissions on this folder on your website.

When you're using TMM, first thing it does is to contact update
reposetory to read list of available files on remote server and
create a locale copy of these lists on your site. The fact that
your locale_lang.php file became corrupt proove that contact
has been made with remote server and that it has tried to update
the list of languages, but corrupted the file doing it.

So, double check that you have in your site all files and folders
coming from the archive file and that all files and folders are
"writable" (ie chmod 666)

Jacques
