Wrong Forecast Icon
« on: November 17, 2012, 02:06:39 PM »
Jacques,

I'm using Weather Blues v1. I've noticed that the forecast icon doesn't change mush or is incorrect. For instance today the text forecast has been "Clear with little temperature change" or currently it is " Increasing clouds and warmer. Precipitation possible within 24 to 48 hours". Yet the forecast icon is showing a dark cloud with lightning and rain! This has happened quite often. I am using the forecast provided by my Davis Vantage Vue and not the one in Cumulus. Why would the forecast icon be wrong?
I'm also using Cumulus 1.9.2 (1032) if that's an issue. I know neither Cumulus nor Weather Blues use Environment Canada's forecast but their icons are sunny or partly cloudy for today for my area.

Please advise if I have done something wrong.

Thanks

Cliff

Hi Cliff,

Yes things are wrong for you because Cumulus provide <#forecastnumber> "webtag"
as the only way to identify forecast by a number as we can't use forecast phrase as
they are too long to be used as icons filename.

In your case, you're using a "Mercedès" station with a far better forecast calculation system
and you're using these forecast instead of Cumulus own... the <#forecastnumber> based icon
library then correspond to nothing for you!

Sorry, I see no easy way to adapt these icons for your forecasts. >:(

Jacques
