Hi Jacques,
As always, I've been looking around for some addition to my website (and Weather Blues Template) and came across the METAR Report script at 'Saratoga Weather'.
After some communication with Ken True, I implemented the page which looks great. (Ken is working on a 'stand alone version for non Saratoga Templates !!!!)
Have a look at: http://www.altonaweather.ca/metar-display.php
Maybe another option for future Weather Blues implementation??? ;)
Cheers,
Arthur

Hi Arthur,
An other great addition for Altonaweather!! 8)
But as you name it, I must highlight Ken's accomplishments! With all its successful
work on amateur weather diffusion, he's became a "name" in the domain and "invented"
semi-pro solutions for serious amateur.
Despite these successes, he's giving sympathetic consideration to "smaller player"!
and doesn't hesitate to modify his work, up to adapt it for other templates!
As already done with weather Blues... as this link (http://weatherbyyou.com/forum/index.php?topic=482.msg1570#msg1570) proove!
Then, thanks Ken for an other "kind action"
Artur.... I'm into tentation to "sniff" your site!!
Regards,
Jacques

Hi Arthur and Jacques,
Thanks for the kind words :-* ;D
Yes, Arthur kindly prodded me into action on a 'future project' to make the METAR display portable to non-Saratoga templates. It was a pleasant morning's effort, so thank you Arthur :)
Jacques, please feel free to add to your template sets as you like. I'd suggest you keep two scripts 'as-is' for future replacement as updates are issued:
get-metar-conditions-inc.php
include-metar-display.php
The metar-display.php page is just a demo and should be reconstituted into the appropriate template(s) of yours.
The images in ./metar-images/ can be placed in your template's default image directory with one change to the $condIconsDir field. The ./cache/ directory is recommended for use rather than polluting the document root with cache files of raw metar info, but it too is optional.
Enjoy with my blessings :)
Best regards,
Ken
