Title: Forecast Codes
Post by: krmidas on March 23, 2013, 12:48:44 PM
I'm a little confused by the relationship between the 26 (or so) forecast coded the weather icons relate to, and the 200 (or so) mentioned here: http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4140 (http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4140)

I'm updating the weather icons on my page and I've always used the 26 that were used in the template: http://weatherbyyou.com/icons_grzanka.php (http://weatherbyyou.com/icons_grzanka.php). I've got a Davis Vantage Pro 2. Should I be equating the icons to the 200 or the 26?

In addition, in the list of 26, there are a couple of odd ones that I wanted to make sure were not mistakes: is there a forecast code of "-1" for exceptional/fine and "-26" for exceptional/bad?

Hi Tom,

These 200 codes are Davis specific and I think aren't used by Cumulus
apart from station forecast phrases... but I have no Davis!

For negative values, see that post: http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9622&p=79406&hilit=negative+forecast#p7940
