Hey everyone, its been a while since i have been on so sorry for that, i have had my weatherstation running now since 2011 using a windows server with Sandaysoft Cumulus costing a fortune but never mind.
I started looking in to the router images so i could use pywws but since come across the best thing since sliced bread (its a uk saying), the Raspberry Pi.
So i fired it all up and loaded the default image then got stuck in to loading and configuring the Pi with the massive help of this site http://www.weather.dragontail.co.uk/index.php?page=station_setup
So basically my setup is Raspberry Pi £26 from RS Components an existing phone charger @ 5V 1000ma (anything above 700ma is fine but not above 1200ma) setup LAMP servers overkill i know buy it can handle it fine configured ssh as its a headless box and away i am, the templates took a fair bit of editing to get right as some txt files were not where they were supposed to be but its just a case of copying them and making sure the weather.ini is including them. My point being this Pi uses hardly any electric and plugs in to my routers, this little box is amazing.
Right so to the point, i have 3 years data i want to import from Sandaysoft looking at the data i do think its possible but i have just finished work and don't want to get stuck in to that now, so my question is has anyone done successfully imported data so pywws can parse and output it?
Future expansion will include captured images of the area every 10 minutes, i am in Gravesend so have a great view over the Thames towards Tilbury but thats in the future and another story.
Sorry for my ramblings but i get there in the end.
For those wishing to look this is still work in progress but is is working, http://www.mgrant.info/weather
Cheers,
Mark.

Hi Mark,
I've been surprised too when tried project pywws, that so smalll
piece of hardware could do the job right... and PI seems to be a real
good Platform for that (I used a router).
For your data migration, I haven't heard anything about that.
Maybe you could see with pywws forum to see if someone dit it!
Regards,
Jacques

Hi Mark,
Cannot help you but would like to pick your brain...
I have just set up my pi to collate data from my Clas Ohlson WS (aka Maplin) and also used dragontail's guidance. But have lost my way getting the pi to talk to website (I'm a total newbie) - I wouls appreciate you passing on the steps you took to get your pi talking to your website.
