Vertical Page Separation
« on: November 28, 2012, 10:43:29 AM »
Hi Jacques,

Several of the Weather Blues templates have a vertical separation on the page.
It's separated as follows:
Left Side:
<div style="float:left; width: 460px">
<div class="sep_vert600">
<div style="text-align: left; margin-left: 25px">

Right Side:
<div id="right_h" style="float:right; width:460px; padding-left: 10px">
<div style="height: 690px">
<div style="text-align: left; margin-left: 25px">

My Climate Change Bulletin Info Page is growing with additions every 2 weeks, so I would like to make the Archive page "smaller" with pictures & content divided into a 3 columns.
Therefore I need to make an additional separation in the page, so it will be 3 columns.
I've tried a lot of things, but it remains only 2 columns.

What's the best way to do this???? ???

Thanks,

Arthur

Hi Jacques,

Again.......I 'rang' the bell too early  :-[
With more 'copy/paste' and playing around with <div>  and </div> 's it finally worked out into  a 3-column page, giving it a better overview of the Climate Change archive...  :)
see: [Info Pages] - [Weather Info] - [Climate Changes]

Sorry to have 'bothered' you  ;)

Cheers,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

You have done a pretty 3 column page with again a lot of informations!

Your site is coming real big with all these additional informations.
That is the way to do a site with more then just some numbers to show!
I think that your stats are coming to be real interesting now (more and more
visitors staying longer on site!)

Bravo!
Jacques

Hi Jacques,

Thanks for your positive comments!!!!
Just remember, WITHOUT your expertise, help and dedication to all of your Weather Blues 'followers', it would have never come this far  ;) :)....
Indeed, I see a Weather Site not just as a 'tool' to give visitors  a bunch of numbers, therefore I decided to (more or less) make it informative as well (also as being part of my 'html-learning curve'  ;D..)
Getting into the 'separation-solution' was another 'win' in this entire process....!!!

Yes, it's nice to see that after installing my Flagcounter on June 20, it has now reached way over 12,000 pageviews in a mere 5 1/2 month......

In expectation of an additional Radar template for Weather Blues (hint  ;) ) you might have seen I've added some good imagery to my Canada & N.America radar page (for now...)

Cheers,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

Yes Radar page project still alive! As I told you before, my worktable is pretty full
and with my "back to work program", hobby time is shrinking quite a few!  ::)

But I think to launch a "pre-release" as 95% is done, I'm just a little stuck
on "player button" to control animation as smoothly as I wish... but maybe
wishes will become true with more time... after Christmas!  ;)

Keep you informed,

Cheers,
Jacques
