problems / help needs with installing weather sunset
« on: January 20, 2013, 10:40:10 AM »
Hi
I`m trying to install weather sunset template: how do I change that password in template manager module? And how can I launch / open that template manager module? In my web browser or where? I can only open it in notepad for editing it... What should I do next? I can`t get forward without help. Folders and files are installed in my web server`s public_html. There is only manage.php and I can`t open it.....  And Cumulus is installed also and it works too...:( :-X

Best regards:
Kapo from Finland

Hi Kapo,

Weather Sunset Template is a php template, then to have it working
you have to send this template as a whole kit (with all folders and subfolders)
into a webserver that support PHP as an option... But most provider include it!
(Maybe if you have it installed in your own server that could be a problem!)

For password, you have to go to "include" folder, you will find a file called
"password_protect.php", edit that file and you will find on 4th line actual
passowrd 'adminpass'... simply cjange that for your own!

For template, as I said, you send all files to your websites, with ALL folders
and subfolders, and you tell Cumulus to process the "Data" file... wt_data_inc.php

Hope this help!... Bonjour from Canada!!  ^-^

Jacques

Hi
Yes there are all folders and subfolders in my web hostels server. And the PHP version is 5.3.20 and  GD Support    enabled
GD Version    bundled (2.0.34 compatible).
Yes now I had template manager open, and then tried to update /wt_months_inc.upd , appears error 404...
And my template dosen`t read any numeric data from Cumulus, or it anyhow dosen`t show those...image error
I want to have this template to work. I like its appearanse, expectly the gauges are really fine.       I`ve plnned some changes to its appearanse, but they come after that than template works perfectly. Does the cumulus banner work same way in this template as in original cumulus?

Hi Kapo,

I've checked your page and and see your manage page, but nothing else!
All other pages give error 404!! Then, are your other pages at the same place
as manage.php?? It looks like no other pages are there!

Also, have you processed file wt_data_inc.php, as indicated in this page?
http://weatherbyyou.com/wsu_install.php#install

You have to instruct Cumulus to where is that file on your Pc and where to put it
on your website!

Jacques

Yes I have done this, and done same to wt_month_inc.php. The pages occures without any numerical data to the moment, when I try update that wt_month_inc.php. That update makes that error 404, and after that all the pages, included index.php are blanc.... :-X What the big mistake I have done again? I`m a very noobie in these things, and I need help and very much patiente from my helper.... Still I believe, that I have occured something very serious problem. The template is fine and I want that to work in my web pages...

Hi Kapo,
We are very near from a perfect template!  8)

Normal to be a bit difficult, you choosed one of the best... but complex too!
Then, for these 2 last things... gauges need their own file to be processed
like other wt_.... files: realtimegaugesT.txt and it have to be renamed
when send to your site. Then Remote Filename could be realtimegauges.txt
(No capital "T" at end)

Finally, for your Monthly records, Cumulus need that you choose EACH AND EVERY
records for all months! This tedious task is descrobed on that post:
http://weatherbyyou.com/forum/index.php?topic=515.msg1731#msg1731
Just a little and it will be perfect!!!  :D

(We will be friends by cold these days, -30c for tomorrow, in Quebec, Canada)

Hi
Now this very fine template seems to run o.k. All data can be found there. Only question is about  updating via template manager that "wt_month_inc.php." It`s not same thing that You linked to me. althought I think so. But that update propably isn`t very significant, cause the monthly datas has moved to new template without that  wt_month_inc.php. update?
This is really fine template, I`do like its appearance very much!!!!!
Thank You for this template.
We have only 11,7 c here now. This feels almoust like summer temp...
How about that optional windrose in those ss-gauges? Is it possible install that also?

Hi Kapo,

If you check every months records, you will note that only january records
are there, because we are in january! That is why I pointed you to that long
post about editing your monthly records... to have something into your
wt_month_inc.php file!

For new radar windrose, it need an update, as the SS version that you use
doesn't include it! An update will probably exist in the next weeksss... I have
just a little "problem" with that gauge as the page is really full... and I don't
want to strip Cumulus and SteelSeries gauges copyright because Steve (Cumulus)
and Mark (SS gauges) have done a real wonderful job and I hold with them!!

Jacques

Hi
Yes I thought something like that about wind rose. The gauges page is the finest part of this template!! I like its appearance really much. I hope that You don`t change that page very much....
The templlate is getting better to  me in small steps... A question about: How can I change this wiew :" $Tr_wetbulb.'</td><td>'.$wetbulb.", to Dew Point ?  I tried to chance to: "$Tr_DewPoint.'</td><td>'.$DewPoint" , in index_text.php, but I couldn`t get DewPoint visible...
This really is fine template..

Hi Kapo,

You're near from the right syntax!!
If you want a little trick, see into your wt_data_inc.php file,
you will see all available data. To be more descriptive, I'll refer
you to this link: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Webtags

On this link, you'll have all Cumulus "Webtags" (Data).
Only remember that yours are PHP converted "Webtags"

Then a "regular" webtag is like that: <#dew>
and its PHP converted is like that: $dew
(Letters are identical... Capital when needed!)

Cheers,
Jacques
(Hoping photos of your "Dream place" in your template soon!!)  :D

Hi
I found something is going wrong with gauges page. The autoscalling dosen`t work with "other Temp."-gauges. It turns that gauge to the left, the zero point turns anticlockwise about 10 degrees in this time, when temperature goes  -20 C and more... What could be wrong now? I  am almoust sure, that its me, who broke something.. but could You take a look at this problem?

Best regards
Kapo
