Weather Sunset
« on: April 06, 2013, 11:14:13 AM »
Hi Jacques, after my disaster with Weather Eden, I thought I would give it another go with the above template.... all was going well until I decided to update via the manage page, it reached either wt_data or wt_months saying they needed updating, as soon as they did I get a page full of errors on that page that is driving me nuts.... I cannot update any of the language files now either....

This is the error that it produces...
wt_data_inc.php    2.3   2.3    .    .
wt_data_intl.php
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/tomcat76/public_html/furball.co.uk/weatherlive/sunshine/wt_data_intl.php on line 479

wt_months_inc.php

Everything else seems to work ok.. apart from manage.php, starts off ok but as soon as I go to update one of those  files it all goes wrong....

Hi Tom,

This is a 'normal' problem with sources files from Cumulus.
When you update these files, you have to move them to the
folder on your local Pc. As they are files to be processed
by Cumulus, they contain webtags recognized as error.

So, when updating wt_data_xxx.php or wt_month_xxx.php
you have to remove them from your site and put them in
the folder where you keep template data files.

In future TMM version, this problem will be corrected by
sending directly to Pc instead of website.

Finally, in your post, you mentioned Weather Eden, but your
last error reported Weather Sunset? But, yes Weather Sunset
month file was wrong... thanks to let me know!

Hope this help!

Regards,
Jacques

Hi, yes I had problems with weather eden and thought I would try this one, it works better now, I think I figured out I had to copy templates back to local folder and now no errors on the page.

Just spotted on the records page a small error (I think) when you first click on the records tab in Sunny weather, the page displays the January dates in a strange format ie

Highest Temperature   15.3 °C   à 13:40,le 28 January 2011
Longest Dry Period   13 Day   au 16 January 2012
But once you click on another on one of the date tabs they are back to normal, even if you select January again they appear ok
Ie
Highest Temperature   15.3 °C   at 13:40 on 28 January 2011
Longest Dry Period   13 Day   to 16 January 2012

Hi Steve,

I'm a little confused about this one as I haven't see it and the letters
you refer to are not translated, you could see them in your processed
data files wt_data_inc.php and wt_months.php. They are 4 lines at top
of files to do the date formatting and they are refered there, not in the language files.
... maybe a browser cache cleaning?  :o

Hi Jacques,

I think that Steve's problem is refering to the WEATHER EDEN/WEATHER SUNSET "Template Configuration---->Date presentation" part of your "Installig instruction" (see attachement). The way the date and time are presented in EACH TEMPLATE is that you have choosen in wt_data_inc.php and wt_month_inc.php files. And in your DEMO templates they have been changed to French language. Am I right?

Best Regards,
Piotr

Hi Piotr,

That is a good one! When I've included some 'date formatting', I thinked
about it and since I haven't received any request about that, so I've keep it
simple and concentrate on 'wrapping' words around dates (ie. at 11:11 on 21 may).

Since 'input' files have 2000 lines and 2 set of these files for English/International
versions, it's a huge job as I also have to separate day-month-year, so a lot of job!
But, I'm about to build a new "Template Configurator Module" to be free from having
to edit files.

So, I launch the idea... is there any interest to have more date formatting??

Best Regards,
Jacques

Piotr, yes you are correct that is the problem, I've decided once my one month vacation from having my system off-line I am going to use the standard set of Cumulus templates, while Jacques templates are so nice and has worked hard on them I don't have the technical know how to fix any problems, there is also quite a bit of editing to do to get your own station details into the templates, there are also some errors as well and to be honest I spend to much time on the computers, hence a one month break... :)

My next attempt will be to get Marks Steel series gauges on my web pages... :))

Hi,

For syntax error in manage.php, simply remove unprocessed files from Web:
wt_data_xxx.php and wt_month_xxx.php
