Weather Blues v1 -> v2 Transition....
« on: August 15, 2012, 12:58:06 AM »
Hi Jacques,

Tonight I downloaded Weather Blues v2, and congratulations on your new product..!!  :) :)
You might have expected "some" questions, so here they come:

Currently (after 2 1/2 month) I have a well displayed weather site based on Weather Blues v1 templates, totalling 24 different weather (and info) pages!!
One thing I don't want to happen is to make "steps backwards" in the current display by changing to WB v2 (although I know the use of PHP has certian advantages).
At the moment I use the Main-Menu which opens a "Sub-Menu" for additional pages. (No drop-down menus (yet)....

My first question is related to the forecast pages.
I have ec-forecast.php running in the Weather Blues template (for 2 different locations), but it is the standard EC display (as seen on their website).
HOW, do I modify this so it will be displayed in the Weather Blues settings, like on your "test page":
http://weatherbyyou.com/demo/Weather_blues_v2/My_Forecast.php
Please keep in mind I have not switched to the "header.php" settings with drop-down menu, since I use the "submenus" in my website for this moment.
Do I use the "my-forecast.php" script AND ec-forecast.css files??

That's it for now  :)

Cheers,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

This morning, I'll work on my 2 ec forecast version pages for WB2.
It will be 2 zip file to add to your template.

Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for some help from anyone in getting the clock on the index.php working in version 2 of the Weather Blues Template.
See:  http://tigerden.hopto.org/tigerdenwx

It did work in version 1 (HTML). See:  http://tigerden.hopto.org/TigerDenWX

I have looked at all the code, but haven't been able to find a clue yet, so if anyone has run into this problem and knows what the solution might be I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks,
Joe

Hi Everyone,

I believe I have found my clock problem.

After exhausting my looking at my index.php script and removing any changes I had put in and still had the problem.  I then compared the clockt.js scripts between Versions 1 and 2 and found them to be different ( with Version 1s being larger ) So I replaced Version 2s with Version 1 and my problem went away. I then went back to Version 2's copy and my problem came back. So I am currently using Version 1s copy of clockt.js and have reinstalled all of my changes back into index.php and currently running without a problem.

Hi Joe,

Ohhhhh my goodness!  ???

I haven't see that one, but was present in Demo site!!
I have retired daynames from script to use translated ones...
(clock display daynames) but have made mistake and
daynames translated are not in index.php as it have to be.

Corrected Index.php is now available in manage module

Sorry Joe I've looked at your post just before bed and post gone in my dreams!  :D

Thanks for highlighting this bug!!  :)

Jacques

Hi Jacques,

Thanks for for fixing this problem ;D . I have incorporated the new index.php, made my changes and restored Version 2 of the clockt.js and everything is working.

Thanks again,
Joe

Ok, finally, after some hair pulling with the uploaded files permissions to changing and making the whole site broken I've got it working :)

One part that isn't working correctly is the manage.php.
I'm trying to update the files using this (to fix the broken clock) but I'm getting the error ...

File to update: index.php

ERR Remote file: Not found!
Process aborted

So I'm not sure where it's meant to be pulling the files from. Could you please advise Mr Meteo?

Cheers Bob

Hi Bob,

Try to see if you are you able to download an other file?

See in your include if files updated

local_lang.php
all_language.php
latest.php

It's the same error if I try to update other files.

and yes, those files are on the web server in the include folder.

Hi Bob,

I need to know if these 3 files are updated, as they have to be updated each time you are using manage!
Then, if these files update correctly,, the problem is elsewhere for me!

Please check timestamp changed each time you run manage, or not!

local_lang.php = today 12.35 (3/4 hour ago)
all_language.php =  today 12.35 (3/4 hour ago)
latest.php = Saturday, ‎18 ‎August ‎2012, ‏‎9:06 AM (4 hours ago) when I uploaded I guess.

Hope that helps :)

Here a snap of the manage screen (wow had to really reduce to scrape in with the max file size).

Edit: Don't spend too much time on this Jacques, it may be my host doesn't like fetching files from else where. I would appreciate if you could hook me up with the new files though.

Hi Bob,

As I go to vacation tomorrow, I give you the missing lines you have to put in your index.php
to correct the clock bug. In index.php, just before </body>, add these linesL

Code: [Select]
<script type="text/javascript">
var dayname = new Array('<?php echo $Tr_sun."', '".$Tr_mon."', '".$Tr_tue."', '".$Tr_wed."', '".$Tr_thu."', '".$Tr_fri."', '".$Tr_sat."', '".$Tr_sun?>');
</script>

Then, your clock will work, and day names on it will be translted in 11 languages!  ;D

Best regards,
Jacques
