<header> pictures
« on: May 19, 2012, 12:50:52 PM »
Hi Jacques,

Thanks for all your help, but I need to ask you some other questions:
1) I changed pictures for the slide show into my own (changed header/header1 and header2 into panorama/panorama1/panorama2). Only 1 image (panorama) is shown, and it still shows the lighthouse picture - header-) during slide show. I changed the style.css file but it's kind of weird.
2) In the [INFO] page (I changed the name from [About] I managed to enter a few pictures of my own. The only problem I have on that page is that the Google Map and link shows your station position in Quebec....
Since I like this feature a lot, how can I change this picture/link to have the correct Map display?

Have a look at it at http://altonaweather.host22.com

Thanks and enjoy your Victoria Weekend,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

For the lighthouse picture in header, you have also to change
file top.jpg into style.css file.

For the googlemap interactive picture, you have an iframe command in infos.htm file,
you have to replace it with yours. to do so:

Go to googlemap and zoom your place to your convenience, then take the chain icon (link),
a little screen will pop-up with 2 choices, link ot html. Take html code and paste it
in your infos file. Link paste include <iframe...  and long <a href... to be clickable.

Note you have to keep width and height to 200px.

Also. I don't know if your "Analytics Code" is working good, but javascript placed
at bottom page, usually need to be just before </body> line.

For Quebecers, it's "La FĂȘte des Patriotes" (Patriot's Day)  ;)

Nice week-end too!

Hi Jacques,
Thanks for your reply.
I managed to get my [Info] page the way I like it (incl picture from Google Map + the link when clicked on Enlarge Map) and all the pictures I like + a working link to PWS and Wunderground when you click on the logos.
Besides this I'm working to get my [Images] page organized with home-made pictures. Works fine, still w.i.p)
My only problem is the header page. I loaded 3 images but it only shows 1 and still the lighthouse is coming up.
I would like to remove slideshow (also makes site slower) and have just 1 picture in the header which I can change frequently.
I followed the instructions "Modify header slides" and "Removing slideshow" exactly, but all that was left in the end was a.txt page of the website, no template at all.
Re-installed (copy.org) template and everything is back to where it was, but I still like to have just 1 image as header and remove slideshow.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

For 1st image, you just have to replace top.jpg file with your own.
It's always better to just replace images with same name, same size picture,
otherwise you'll be hang in "tricks" made to do a quality template.

If you prefer to remove slideshow and stay with static image,
follow steps in customisation page (updated today)

Re: <header> pictures / NOAA Reports

Hi Jacques,

Thanks for your advise!! It's all up-and-running perfectly inside the fantastic template you provided!!
(my only missing object is the Real Time display in Gauges, but that's not supported by the Web-Host I'm using. I might upgrade in the future).
Have a look at the [Images] and [Info] page to see some of my pictures from in and around Pickering ON.
Is there a way to add more lines (= pictures) to the 14 currently displayed??

Of course I have another question......

Cumulus sends everyday (after midnight) the NOAA files. (I see them in my public_html directory on the web page)
Is there a way to add another [TAB] with a link to display the NOAA reports?

Thanks,

Arthur

Hi Arthur,

Yes you can put any numbers of photos in images.htm file.
You just have to copy section surrounding by <li>....</li>
to add more pictures to this slideshow.

Your pictures are real well!

Best regards,
Jacques
