Weather, without Pc!

Linux is well-known as an operating system needing less ressources from hardware. Some Linux distributions like DD-WRT, OpenWrt and Tomato, are geared on widely available "Open" routers. These distributions give opportunity to operate a router acting as a "low power Pc"

Weather on routeur!

Some Open routeurs are available with usb ports, this is the minimum you need to connect a weather station. With usb port your router could be linked to your weather station. Then, Weather by You will assist you by giving a simple step-by-step instructions to build your own instalation... without Pc!

As routers are becoming less expensive, take time to choose a good "Open" Router, all the "fun" you could have depend on this piece of hatfware. Consider these features:

  • RAM : Volatile memory (minimum 8Mb).

  • Flash RAM : Permanent memory (min. 32Mb).

  • Usb ports : 1 as minimum, 2 is heaven!
